Lost and Found
 

The Transitional Living Program, located one block north of historic Olde Town Arvada, provides a state-licensed, sixteen-bed residential childcare facility that accepts young men ages 16-18 who require independent and life skills training but still need the support of a structured environment.

 
 
Life Skills Training

Residents participate in daily life skills groups designed to focus on one of fourteen life skills arenas:

  • Money Management
  • Food Management
  • Personal Appearance/Hygiene
  • Health
  • Housekeeping
  • Transportation
  • Education Planning
  • Job Seeking Skills
  • Job Maintenance
  • Emergency and Safety
  • Community Resources
  • Interpersonal Social Skills
  • Legal Issues
  • Housing

These groups are conducted in the community and utilize hands-on activities and interactions with community members to develop skills.

 

 
Pro-Social Activities
 

Residents participate in a variety of pro-social community activities. These opportunities include:

  • Hip-hop dance
  • Snowboarding
  • Volunteering
  • Involvement at local churches
Culinary Groups
Residents learn how to use the food they have in their kitchens to prepare great meals during weekly culinary groups, under the tutelage of a trained chef.

Trained job coaches assist residents with:

  • Creating resumes
  • Performing mock interviews
  • Completing applications
  • Meeting potential employers
Educational Assistance

Education needs are addressed on an individual basis. Residents attend:

  • Public high school
  • GED preparation programs
  • Community colleges

Assessment
     
Lost and Found Inc. utilizes the Daniel Memorial Independent Living Assessment throughout the program to evaluate each of its residents, ensuring that their independent deficits are being addressed. The program is then tailored to meet the residents' needs and focus on life skills training in low scoring arenas.
     
Treatment
 

Lost and Found Inc. provides the following treatment:

  • Substance abuse groups facilitated by Certified Addictions Counselors
  • Offense specific groups facilitated by SOMB-approved counselors
  • Mental health counseling provided by Licensed Professional Counselors
 
Tracking
 
TLP can provide GPS ankle monitoring for those residents who are in need of more intensive supervision.
